Urgh! I have already written an upbeat and enthusiastic post about this mask, but a blog glitch lost it so I’m having to start again – so annoying! The Formula 10.0.06 range is a collection of products designed specifically with problem skin in mind. I’ve got a few that I’m working through at the moment with a mostly positive experience, but I thought I’d start with something nice and easy to fit into your skincare routine, the Three Times Sublime, which is marketed as a wash, scrub and mask in one, but really it’s the last two as I’m not sure it can be perceived as a wash.
It contains jojoba beads to exfoliate, but these aren’t those lovely rounded numbers that roll over the skin, so if that’s what you’re hoping for then you’ll be disappointed. However, they are by no means excessively scratchy, and as long as you use this sensible and gently, it shouldn’t cause any issues. It’s also a really beautifully fragranced product that smells lovely and fruity (but thankfully not synthetic) which very much adds to the appeal. You use it by working it (gently!) over the face – which provides the manual exfoliation – then, once an even layer is achieved, you leave it to set and that’s where the deep cleansing mask does its thing. It dries to quite a hard finish, but interestingly it isn’t hard work to remove so you’re not left with skin that looks like it’s been rubbed too much, an issue I often have with clay masks that dry to a solid finish – instead skin look and feels clear and the right side of smooth, without feeling stripped of moisture, making it a very decent, budget find.
