When it comes to skincare, my soft spot has always been cleansers; a good cleanser can turn a mundane, everyday experience into a few moments of relaxing luxury, so I have a HUGE collection of cleansers that I dip in and out of depending on my mood. Since the arrival of the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser and it’s complimentary buddy, the CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser, I’ve almost exclusively used them, which I think says a lot about how fantastic they are! If you’ve been planning to Feng Shui your skincare routine, grab a good cleansing oil and this duo from CeraVe and you’re all set.
I’ll start with the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser, which is a gorgeous, lightweight, creamy gel that feels soothing and gentle to use. Texturally, this is very much like the cult Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser, just slightly thinner. It’s incredibly hydrating but it doesn’t leave a residue, instead skin just feels cleansed and refreshed without any tightness. I use this in the evening after a cleansing oil (and usually that’s after a miceller as I wear quite a bit of eye make-up) and it’s really lovely; I’m upping my retinol percentage at the mo, so skin feels a little on the sensitive side, but this cleanser provides the perfect tonic for dryness and tightness.
The CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser is what I use in the morning, as it’s gently foaming and lightly exfoliating, so it gets rid of my night time skincare and prepares my skin for the morning routine. All CeraVe products focus largely on ensuring the delivery of Ceramides (these help maintain a healthy skin barrier) which I think is really apparent in this cleanser, which someone leaves skin feeling incredibly clean and smooth to touch, whilst also providing hydration and balance, so skin feels and looks impressively treated. The main exfoliator in the SA Smoothing Cleanser is Salicylic Acid so the exfoliation is purely chemical and nothing grainy or physical is involved. Also, the inclusion of SA makes this a great choice for anyone who is spot-prone, as this is such a balancing product that’ll cut through any oiliness without stripping it away.
I’m incredibly impressed with CeraVe – I have a couple of moisturisers that are equally amazing, more on that very soon – and I especially love the fact that all this dermatologist-designed skincare joy comes at a fantastic price point, with the Hydrating Cleanser costing £9.50 and the SA Smoothing Cleanser £12 (all currently 3for2 at Boots here – link) for the sizes I’ve featured in this post, but you can pick up various different sizes depending on your needs.
*PR Samples – I was not paid to feature these products.
I’m tempted to buy both of these as everyone is raving about the brand. I’d most probably keep use for my body x
