I took a couple of weeks off to revamp my blog and now I have a new blog design and a new logo too! What do you think? I’ve been desperate to talk about the Skingredients Skin Good Fats Ultra-Hydrating Ceramide Moisturiser for ages now, so it made sense to make this my first blog post on my new design.
If you’re unfamiliar with Skingredients, they are a gorgeous range of extremely well formulated skincare, with a small (but perfectly formed) collection of skincare essentials that mostly focus on skin TLC. I’m going to say the cheesiest thing I’ve possibly ever said on this very blog, but this is a range that you can tell is formulated with love; the guys behind the brand (created by the awesome skin geek Jennifer Rock) really know what they want the products to do and they make sure to deliver on the promises.
I’ve been lucky enough to be sent a couple of Skingredients products, kicking off with the Skin Good Fats Ultra-Hydrating Ceramide Moisturiser which is every bit as dreamy as it sounds. Annoyingly, one of the lead ingredients is Niacinamide which is an instant block for me as my skin absolutely will not tolerate it in any form, but, after trying the texture on my hand I had to give it a go – predictably, I broke out pretty quickly thanks to the Niacinamide, which was absolutely gutting as this joyful moisturiser felt so good on the skin.
The Skin Good Fats Ultra-Hydrating Ceramide Moisturiser is designed to repair and/or maintain your skin barrier, so it’s chock full of goodies that assist with this, such as ceramides, Shea Butter Glycerides (a fatty acid derivative of Shea Butter that provides the goodness without the greasiness) as well as Grape Seed oil and Vitamin E.
You can use the Skingredients Skin Good Fats Ultra-Hydrating Ceramide Moisturiser in a variety of ways, depending on your skin needs. If you’re struggling with a compromised skin barrier (breakouts, itchy skin and redness are all possible signs) then get this on your face morning, noon and night. If you’re looking to maintain your skin hydration then you can go for either AM or PM (PM is preferable as it’s a rich product) or even just a few times a week if your skin leans oily. You can also use it as a mask (apply a denser layer and leave it to settle) and you can even use it on dry areas of your body, such as knees, elbows, hands and feet.
Finally, it would be wrong to finish this post without mentioning the fact that Skingredients products are all refillable; so you buy the outer container when you first try the product (obviously it comes with a refill already installed!) then, when you run out, you just buy the refill. I’m so glad that brands are doing this as the beauty industry is such a disaster for unnecessary waste, so hopefully more brands will follow!
The Skingredients Skin Good Fats Ultra-Hydrating Ceramide Moisturiser is £49 for the primary purchase, then £44 for the refill. Find it here – link.
