Now finally available to us woefully neglected UK residents is the amazing Kiko make-up brand. The range is absolutely huge and doesn’t just cover make-up, there’s also skincare, nail care and a mega range of accessories too, so any beauty fanatics must check out the selection immediately if not sooner.
I woke up yesterday to a wonderful bag of goodies from their Colours in the World collection, so here’s a closer look at my favourite items so far:
Colour Party Palette*
This contains six glorious shades of eyeshadow that can be used both wet and dry. There are four variants available, and this one is Holi Vibrations (04). I love the fact that this doesn’t sit into any specific category shade-wise, and instead contains a bit of everything, from the girly and seasonal aquamarine at the end, to the shimmery, golden bronze second from the left in the picture. A wonderful edit of both shades and finishes (matte, shimmer and full-on sparkle) this is a stunning palette all round, priced at £16.90.
Colour Explosion Multi-Tone Blush* and Colour Splash Multi-Tone Bronzer*
The finish on both of these pressed colours is so incredibly pretty, yet the colours themselves are functionally placed too. There are four shades of the blush available and two shades of the bronzer. The blush shade I have is Bold Coral (04) which is pretty much exactly as it says on the tin; the leading shade is a strong pop of coral, but there’s an earthier shade to the left and a paler shade to the right to balance the brightness, resulting in a multitude of ways to wear this. There is the tiniest bit of shimmer in the blush, whereas the bronzer – whilst containing a similar layout – has one shade with a strong hit of shimmer that compliments the other matte shades. The bronzer shade in this picture is Jovial Tan (02). The blush is priced at £11.90 and the bronzer is £13.90.
Long Lasting Lipsticks*
The shades I was sent are Tea Rose (01), Red Orchid (05) and True Red (04)which is the same order as displayed in the pictures. The lipsticks sit firmly in the lipstick camp (by that I mean they’re not butters or glosses or matte in finish) and are extremely easy to apply thanks to their skinny pen-style functionality.
The colour payoff is incredibly strong and my experience so far is that they’re not prone to bleeding or slipping, however, this is based on only having worn the Tea Rose shade so I’ll reserve judgement until I’ve given True Red a try! There are six shades available in total, and these are priced at £6.90 each.
Vivid Eyes Kajak and Eyeliner*
This liner just makes me want to vamp up a smoky eye tomorrow, which is normally a look I only reserve for nights out, but the black end of this is just so creamy and pigmented that I need to find a way to trial this on my lower waterline ASAP! It’s a good, chunky pencil with a firm nib that on first inspection I expected to be too hard to work with, but having swatched it, it’s actually a lot creamier than it looks.
I actually think these two shades would look amazing together, so don’t be surprised if you see an EOTD featuring these very soon. The only downside of this is that you will need to purchase the sharpener with it as the pencil girth is a little unusual. The price for the pencil is £7.90 and the sharpener is £3.20.
Skin Glow Light Effect Day Cream*
This is a bit of a wildcard mention as obviously I’m quite limited on what I can use skincare wise, but I do think I could work this into my routine as a primer as it gives such a great, luminous finish, although this is based on hand swatching rather than the face – I’ll update when I’ve had a chance to try this properly. It’s a day cream with an SPF 10 and it contains brightening particles that thankfully don’t translate as shimmer, but instead just create a glowy finish. This is priced at £12.90.
All the above items are limited-edition, seasonal products, so if anything takes your fancy you’ll need to act quickly! All available now from the main Kiko site. There are so many gorgeous products available, so if you have a spare half an hour then it’s definitely worth having a good mooch and familiarising yourself with the brand which is finally available here.
I love Kiko’s eye make-up the most – the eyeliners are always so pigmented which is what I look for, especially when I’m looking for a blue liner. Lovely range x
love the lipstick color cute!
