While autumn can be an excuse for neglecting your feet, stuffing them into winter boots where they can’t be seen, the festive season will soon be upon us when you’ll probably want to show off your tootsies in a pair of gorgeous party sandals. So, with that in mind, here are some of my favourite new-season shoes, and beauty treats for your feet, to make sure you’re party ready from top to toe.
Colour-block high-heeled sandals
I’m swooning over these colour-block heels by La Redoute. They have an urban luxe feel reminiscent of Givenchy or Tabitha Simmons and will go will absolutely everything – from updating a LBD to dressing up a pair of skinny jeans and teaming with a pencil skirt and crisp white shirt for work.
Perfect Heels rescue balm
If you’ve found the perfect pair of shoes, but it means your less-than-perfect heels will be on show, then this rescue balm works amazingly quickly. By This Works, it costs around £16, but you only need a little bit. The ingredients include cotton thistle extract, which provides a protective barrier locking moisture in, while lemon oil helps to repair any cracks and damage.
Burt’s Bees Foot Lotion
There is surely no better treatment for feet than a peppermint lotion. It’s so tingly, you can practically feel it working. And, it leaves your feet smelling super-fresh, no matter how much dancing you do. The lotion feels thick and creamy, with peppermint oil and menthol to leave your feet refreshed and sunflower and coconut oil to moisturise. I’m already a fan of Burt’s Bees lip balm, but I’m going to be adding the foot lotion to my collection.
Celebrity sandals
A current celeb favourite, Guiseppe Zanotti’s creations have been worn by everyone from Charlize Theron to Sandra Bullock, who chose a pair of the Italian designer’s black and white sandals for the New York premiere of her new space movie Gravity. I’m loving his new Alien suede sandals, which have a huge 5-inch heel, but they’re made more wearable with an inbuilt platform. The serpent-like gold metal appliqué adds an almost Grecian feel to these heels which would look stunning set against this season’s party must-have – the Little White Dress.
New nail shades
Just as you add new pieces to your wardrobe when the weather starts to turn cooler, the new autumn/winter season is the perfect excuse to change your pedicure colour too. I love Nails Inc’s new George Street shade, it’s the perfect nude to act as a foil for colourful heels. Or, for more drama, Chanel’s iconic Le Vernis nail varnish, in Taboo paints on as a deep sparkly plum.
Foot mask
While your beauty routine may already include a pampering face mask, how about a mask for your feet? If they need a lot of TLC then Hoof’s foot mask is just the ticket. You just leave it on for 10 minutes, inhale the gorgeous apricot and mint aroma, wash it off and, hey presto, beautifully soft feet.
By including your feet in your pampering routine now, you’ll be ready – and more than willing – to show them off when those party invites start arriving.
