It’s been a while since we’ve seen any new flavours arrive from lip balm kings Carmex, so I’m glad to report that a new launch is on its way…and it’s a little bit interesting! The Carmex Jasmine Green Tea flavour is less Green Tea and more Jasmine, which on the face of it is certainly something I wouldn’t complain about considering Jasmine is one of my all-time favourite scents, but it’s also something I’d prefer to smell on my person rather than taste on my lips, and the Jasmine is very much a perfume-style flavouring which is a really odd choice for lip balm in my opinion.
There are two elements to this new flavour; the taste and the scent. The scent is a winner for me but, interestingly, the flavour isn’t – as I expected – like applying perfume to your mouth, which is obviously a good thing. However, I have simple tastes when it comes to lip balm flavours and I’m always going to choose a fruity flavour for my lips and a perfume for my general scent, and never the twain shall meet…or something like that. I’m still very undecided on this new flavour from Carmex as it just seems like an odd choice for a flavour (rather than a perfume) but to summarise, it smells nice, doesn’t taste of perfume and it does deliver on lip moisturisation as you’d expect from a Carmex lip balm, plus it’s so well priced at £2.,69 that any intrigue can be cheaply quenched. The Jasmine Green Tea Lip from Carmex launches next month (May 2014).

Ah, sometimes there’s nothing like good old Carmex and since it’s got jasmine in it, I’ll definitely be checking this one out :o) Xx
