Jane Iredale is quickly becoming a brand I turn to for base products considering how much I love their Full Coverage BB Cream (check out my full review here) and now I’ve tried their PurePressed Base Mineral Foundation I’m a real fan. I also really like the way the foundation is sold; you purchase a compact (which is a solid, sturdy metal case with a mirror – definitely built to last) then you add the foundation which you can then keep replacing over time.
The Jane Iredale PurePressed Base Mineral Foundation is available in 24 shades spanning a really good selection from very pale to really deep. I’m Light Beige which is the 4th (!!) lightest; if you consider I’m almost always the lightest shade, this proves that there are some seriously pale shades available, so if you’re a pale girl who struggles to get a good shade match then these are worth checking out. I would recommend going to a stockist and getting the foundation applied to get your shade right, then after that you can order online.
The foundation is extremely versatile with regards to coverage as you can apply a light layer to reduce redness and generally even skintone, or you can build this up to seriously high coverage; in the images below I haven’t added any extra base/concealing products so that’s just the powder on its own.
Another use for this is as a setting powder after foundation application, although there are better powders for setting. I think this really comes into its own as a foundation that you can quickly and easily buff in to skin to be left with a natural, demi-matte finish that lasts a good 8 hours. I also love the fact that this is pressed rather than loose as it’s a lot less messy. If you’re a mineral foundation fan or you’ve considered trying powder foundation before but were nervous it would look heavy or unnatural (or was a lot of faffy mess) then this is a really good option to try. More info on the shade range can be found here – link – the refills can be purchased for £29.95 here – link – and the compact is currently less than a tenner here – link.

I’m interested in the Jane Iredale foundation at the moment. Just purchased my first items from the brand, an eyeliner and lip liner. Loving the lip liner, the eyeliner not so much though. Just need to find somewhere close to me that stocks the range before taking the plunge with the foundation, I never get it quite right when I chose base shades online. Looks nice on you though!
It’s seriously good and easily the most natural mineral foundation I’ve used; you don’t that weird plastic finish that a lot of mineral foundations give xx
Looks good Sascha, you can really see the difference
It looks really effective. I must try it!
Have you tried their lipsticks?
I have! I love the brand in general; one of the first and best mineral brands I think xx
