I almost broke my monthly love list down into a two-parter as there are soooo many things I’m loving this month, but I managed to narrow it down, so here are my five picks for August:
1. Laura Mercier Limited Edition Luxe Colour Portfolio
If there’s one thing Laura Mercier does well, it’s palettes and this Christmas present from my lovely dad is no exception. I’ve been dabbling with it on and off since I received it, but it’s really come into its own over the past few weeks as I’ve been using both the Topaz eye shadow and Pink Petal blusher daily.
Topaz is an easy, blendable and wearable shade that goes with everything and Pink Petal is such a flattering, very little shimmering shade of pink compliments my skin tone really well. Whilst the palette is no longer available, the individual shades can be found.
2. Ark Remove Pre Skin Cleanse
I mentioned this is my current skincare routine post and it really is something special for removing all make-up comfortably and easily. I’ll be doing a full review shortly, but it would’ve been wrong to not give it a place in this months list as I really look forward to using it!
3. Benefit They’re Real! Mascara
When this first landed, I had it applied by a Benefit Girl in Boots and I was really not impressed so I didn’t bother pursuing it any further. However, when I saw that the wand had a spiked end (I do like a spiked tip for getting into the corners) I thought I’d give it another go and it really is fantastic at making lashes look super long without clumping. It’s a bit of a pain to remove, nothing too bad but still harder than other mascaras, but it’s most definitely worth it.
4. Erno Laszlo Blue Firmarine Eye Serum
My love affair with Laszlo products continues and this serum is definitely at the top of my favourites. It’s one of those weird ones where I didn’t actually pay much attention to whether it was working or not until I saw a picture of myself smiling and realised just how significantly the fine lines under my eyes had reduced. It’s a gentle, soothing, moisturising serum that is clearly working amazingly well, and the best part is that you need the absolute tiniest amount to go over both the under and over eye areas.
5. Chanel Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Magnolia
You can’t beat a bit of Chanel in your handbag for a good ol’ confidence boost, and this beautiful shade of warm pink is doing wonders for me at the moment. It’s one of those versatile shades that can be dressed up or down (certainly my justification during the purchasing of it) and is flattering against my pale complexion. I really didn’t need another pink lipstick, obviously, but I’m so glad I went ahead and bought it anyway as it’s fab.
Disclosure: Erno Laszlo and Ark products were PR samples, Chanel and Benefit products were purchased by me and Laura Mercier palette was a Christmas present from my dad.
