Whenever I write something about Dove, I start it in pretty much the same way, by declaring the fact that I have a real soft spot for the brand – it’s just one of those brands that I’ve grown up loving and I can still remember adverts that were played when I was a kid, plus the products are always the sort of thing that speaks to me and gets me intrigued…and let’s not forget that it’s a budget brand too, so it ticks a lot of boxes! I recently attended a preview of some of the new and incoming launches, so I thought I’d share with you some of the bits I’m most excited about, whilst also revisiting a couple of existing and timely favourites.
Starting with some of the existing favourites, when you think of Dove, you think of moisturising, and the DermaSpa range is like a hydration range for those who don’t want to slather themselves in thick, rich products, but still need some body hydration. The products are light, cooling and very refreshing, so great to take away to hotter countries if you’re lucky enough to be visiting one any time soon. I’v also included the Pear and Aloe Vera version of the cult Dove Deodorant as it’s nice and light and soothing too, making it a great choice for the warmer months.
Speaking of warmer months, if you’re a little on the pasty side and need some help preparing for skin-showing weather, Dove to a gorgeous range of self-tanners that includes the Visible Glow Self Tan Lotion – a product I mistook for a gradual tanner and slathered on casually before waking to impressively tanned palms – and the Summer Revived Body Lotion, which is my personal favourite as I love a gradual tanner; this one is particularly impressive and fast working; I used it in the evening and again in the morning and by midday I had a lovely light glow, so it definitely works and I love that there are options depending on what you fancy, proving that self-tanning doesn’t need to be an expensive investment.
The Dove Shower Foams have been around for a little while, but are worthy of a mention thanks to their gorgeous fragrance options: Pampering Pistachio and Revitalising Pear – I don’t know what it is about pear in skin and body care that I love so much, I just think it’s one of those fragrances that’s the perfect balance of fruity and fresh – so two really lovely fragrances that works for morning and night time showers, although are fine for baths too. These are lovely, but not quite as exciting as…
…the Dove Shower Mousses! These are my favourites out of all the new launches as they are brilliant, handy, multi-use products in a great selection of fragrances – total winners for me. I will share a more thorough review soon, but just to give you an idea, these are thick, creamy shower mousses that can also be used as shaving foams, available with Argan Oil, Rose Oil or Coconut Oil.
The Dove Glowing Ritual Shampoo and Conditioner set is, I think, the only new hair set for the brand, and is designed to create hair that is silky, shiny and full of radiance, courtesy of pink lotus and rice water. I haven’t got on especially well with the recent Dove hair launches so I wasn’t expecting much from this, and whilst it hasn’t blown me away, both products produce hair that is soft, shiny and isn’t weighed down at all – enough so that I’m reaching for it regularly when I wash my hair – and I think this would be particularly well suited to anyone with fine or thin hair that wants the silkiness and softness without the weight.
Finally, the Nourishing Secrets Body Lotions are getting new matching hand creams (I do love the idea of a matching hand and body cream!) so there’s the Invigorating Ritual with avocado oil and the Restoring Ritual with coconut oil, both of which are aimed at those with dry skin. Everything I’ve talked about is available now, and you can find it all at Boots here – link.

Ooo I’ve tried the pistachio foaming shower mousse before and it is amazing! 😀 I wish they’d make a hand soap to match. ^_^
