A while ago, I posted my reviews of the two other Image Skincare masques – the Ageless Total Resurfacing Masque here and the Ormedic Balancing Gel Masque here. I have one final Image masque to tell you about, and I’ve definitely saved the best until last. The Image Skincare Vital C Hydrating Enzyme Masque is a beautiful treat for the skin that does a little bit of everything, providing a light exfoliation, a hydrating treatment, a glow-booster and a plumping effect so you really do feel like you’ve used a good quality masque after use – I use this when I want it all, especially if I have an event that I want my skin to look particularly good for.
The Image Skincare Vital C Hydrating Enzyme Masque is a zingy, freshly fragranced cream mask that feels smooth and hydrating on application. You feel the tiniest of tingles for the first 30 seconds or so, but it really is very mild and I don’t experience any redness, dryness or sensitivity after use. Instead, skin feels really smooth and plump, noticeably brighter and generally a lot more even with a lovely glow. Alongside the Vitamin C there are mostly fruit acids (papaya and pineapple) and some skin-loving Vitamin E and Hyaluronic Acid. Interestingly, there’s also Retinyl Palmitate – a Retinol ester – which I’m intrigued to see included; I’m not sure how much of an impact such an ingredient would have on the skin during a mask treatment, but I’m a huge Retinol fan so no complaints here. Much like the other Image masks, suggested usage involves applying liberally and leaving for anything between 5-30 minutes. I almost always use this in the bath, so I tend to have it on for about 20 minutes which works really well for me. I still think it’s worth patch-testing if you’re especially sensitive, but this is such a lovely, light and gentle product that really does give good results, so I would guess it would be suitable for most (if not all!) skin types, although I think spot-prone skin types would see particular benefit, since this will both calm and lightly exfoliate. It’s £44.
