I am such a lover of gorgeous fragrance and I have a huge collection; I spritz myself day and night, and I see it as a part of my self-care routine to go to bed smelling wonderful. I have been lucky enough to try most of the Kayali launches over the last couple of years and I would say almost all of them have made it into my permanent collection as Kayali scents really are something else; they just hit right. Up until the launch of Kayali Fleur Majesty Rose Royale, my favourite Kayali fragrance was Eden Sparkling Lychee (review here) which was a huge surprise as I remember reading about it thinking it was unlikely to be my sort of thing, but Kayali Fleur Majesty Rose Royale has absolutely changed that, landing right at the top of not only my favourite Kayali scents, but pretty much my favourite scent of the year – it’s literally all I have worn since it arrived and I absolutely adore it.
Kayali Fleur Majesty Rose Royale is a rose-led scent, but if you’re not a fan of rose as a fragrance then don’t let that put you off as the rose is so well housed within the other notes, that all come together to provide a scent that’s bright, feminine, summery and grown-up. The juicy top notes of mandarin, orange, peach and pear provide a bright and refreshing opening that quickly gives way to the floral undertones of the heart notes of magnolia, white peony, rose centifolia and violet wood, the later of which provides a really gorgeous, almost smoky balance to the rest of the florals. At the base you have vetiver, musk, praline, vanilla, plus Ambrox Supe and the Kayali Signature Accord; I don’t know enough about the final two notes to confirm what they add, but what I can say is that the fragrance settles into a really gentle and pretty floral that’s warm, sensual and inviting. I really do have so much love for this fragrance, I think it’s been crafted so beautifully!
It would be wrong to write a review of Kayali Fleur Majesty Rose Royale without mentioning the stunning bottle, which gradates from gentle pink to sheer violet, matching the fragrance it houses perfectly. I really do try to be as critical as possible when reviewing things on here, but this fragrance release is literally perfect. It’s out now, with several sizes available (two versions of the 10ml, the pictured 50ml or a larger 100ml) and Boots currently have three sizes available with up to 20% off, so now is definitely the time to treat yourself.
