This month sees the arrival of seven new shades being added to the extremely popular Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Lip Color collection. The existing 34 shades consist of some extremely pretty colours with some lovely pinks; there’s a shade called 60’s Pink that I need in my life!
The Creme Smooth Lip Colors give you the best of both worlds when it comes to lipstick; you get a strong colour payoff in a buttery formula that’s designed to last. The formula is also buildable allowing for a versatile application; you can go for anything from a stain, to a sheer wash, right up to a colour pop lip. They also include lip-loving ingredients such as Olive Oil, Vitamin E and Rose Seed Extract so your lips feel comfortable and hydrated.
The seven new shades are mostly in the nude spectrum, with various takes on a nude finish, from the pale fudge of Biscotti to the deep plum Dry Rose. I have three of the new shades including the aforementioned Biscotti and Dry Rose as well as the mid-pinky nude of Lychee Parfait.
When these first arrived, I immediately wrote-off Biscotti as being too pale and the one I’d like least, with Dry Rose likely to be too deep and Lychee Parfait almost certainly coming out as the favourite. Whilst Lychee Parfait is a lovely, “my lips but a little deeper” pink, it’s actually my least favourite of three, with Biscotti coming out on top!
It proves the point that you really should never judge a lippie by it’s stick (that’s the saying, right?) and should get always get swatch-happy as Biscotti comes to life on skin. It’s a beautiful, wearable nude that has a bit of a 60’s feel to it, meaning it’ll suit a smokey eye, or a laid-back neutral look, plus it’ll look great with a light tan too. Dry Rose is quite a brave shade for the warmer months as it’s very vampy and deep, but I like it! It’s actually the one I wore out yesterday as it goes really well with a simple slick of liner and a decent mascara. The winner for me though is definitely, definitely Biscotti. All the new shades of the Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Lip Color are available now from Liberty – link – and Harvey Nichols, with the rest of the stockists getting the new colours by the end of the month. These are £21 and if you’re on the hunt for the perfect nude, go and swatch Biscotti!

Gorgeous colours! I’ve never tried anything from Laura Mercier, but I’d love to try these 🙂

Oh you must! Laura Mercier is fantastic – they have great foundations and some wonderful lip colours too, plus their mineral powder foundation is phenomenal! xx
You look just beautiful in the first pic (and of course all pics), but something about the light and make-up colours in the first pic is just spot on.
That’s such a lovely thing to say (and hear!), thanks so much Kate! xx
