I’ve heard of Ghost fragrances but I’ve never really tried them myself, so I was pleasantly surprised by their newest launch, Ghost Whisper Rain, which, if you can ignore the cheesy title, ticks all the boxes with regards the aesthetics and scent. The bottle itself is a beautiful pearlescent number that my rubbish photography skills have failed to capture; it’s a beautiful, colour-changing, demi-matte finish that’s just really very pretty.
The fragrance itself is a floral scent with a slightly musky undercurrent. It’s a very bright, seasonal scent that works very well with a little bit of sun. The notes are bergamot, clementine and neroli at the top, magnolia, freesia and orris root at the heart and a couple of base notes including heliotrope and musk. Whisper Rain is a bit of a crowd-pleaser and won’t win any awards for originality, but it’s very pretty – it’s invited plenty of ‘what perfume are you wearing?’ questions – and it’s reasonably priced at around the £45 mark, which sounds a lot, but that’s for 75ml which is a good ol’ size. I cannot, for love nor money, seem to find it online anywhere, but I believe the most reliable stockist is Superdrug.
