It’s been 10 years since the Max Factor Masterpiece collection launched, so to mark the occasion, all the products in the collection have been given a makeover to form the Spring-ready Masterpiece Boutique Collection. The Masterpiece Boutique is all about the eyes, and includes the Masterpiece Glamour Extension 3in1 Mascara, Masterpiece MAX Mascara, Masterpiece Transform Mascara, the original and waterproof Masterpiece Mascara, Kohl Liner, Eyebrow Pencil and my personal favourites, the Colour Precision Eye Shadows.
I’m having such a moment with Max Factor at the moment as pretty much everything they’ve released lately has been absolutely brilliant. A great example of their current awesomeness is the Creme Puff Blush that arrived earlier this year – check out my full review with swatches here – and I’d go as far as to say that these are my favourite ever high-street blushers; they are fantastic, so try them! Having said that, being a mascara fusspot I’d say my least favourite products from Max Factor are their mascaras, which is funny considering how popular they are. Still, I have quite a few of them to try now so maybe my mind will be changed!
Max Factor do great budget liners for both brows and eyes, but to be honest I don’t think I would’ve noticed the packaging change, although I don’t pay a lot of attention to packaging unless it’s truly standout. To be honest, I think this is just the brand’s way of reminding us of some of it’s cult products which is definitely no bad thing.
I really like the Colour Precision Eye Shadows as they’re so handy and blend really well, plus you can get quite creative with them and blend various colours to create new shades – if you pick up Pearl Beige and Coffee, both of which are cool-toned, you can mix yourself pretty much any shade of taupe you fancy, which is fab. There are seven shades in total with the mossy Golden Green being a particular favourite if you like an easy-to-wear khaki eye. All the redesigned products are available now with prices starting at £4.99 for the Kohl pencils going up to £10.99 for the 3in1 Mascara. The Colour Precision Eye Shadows are £5.99 a pop. Here’s the Max Factor page at Boots – link – where there’s a free gift on a £15+ spend.
