Even though the skin on my face is a bit of a nightmare, I’ve been fairly lucky with the skin on my body as I’ve never had any real issues with it. Consequently, I haven’t had to follow any kind of body care routine beyond using a moisturising shower cream, which is the wrong attitude, as before I know it, the signs of ageing will have kicked in, my skin will start to lose it’s elasticity and I’ll end up with skin that’s dry and lacklustre. However, a good daily body cream can chase all these issues away, which is why I’ve been road-testing the Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion to see if it’s a good fit for me.
Whilst my skin isn’t dry, there are certainly dry patches in all the usual spots – hands, feet, elbows and knees – and it was these particular patches that I focused on when trying out this daily body hydrator. The Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion is a non-greasy and fragrance-free cream that contains naturally active colloidal oatmeal, an ingredient that helps to repair skin’s natural barrier and prevent water loss. Consequently, skin will feel immediately hydrated and Aveeno promise a significant improvement to dry skin in just two weeks. I’ve been using around five pumps off this on my hands and feet, before working any residual product into my dry knees and elbows. The biggest difference, for me, is on the condition of my feet, which have been horrendously dry recently, but a few uses of this have softened all the dry bits whilst significantly improving the overall appearance – for that alone this is a product well worth investing in. Thankfully, you don’t have to spend much if you want to pick up a bottle yourself, as 200ml is £5.10 or 300ml is £7.14 and you can find all the info on Aveeno here.
Aveeno have asked me to share my skincare secrets, so here’s my main one: every evening when I’m getting ready for bed, I wash my hands with a moisturising hand wash and a dish sponge! It sounds strange, I know, but the sponge is quite rough, so it gives my hands a great exfoliation which then allows for my hand cream to absorb more easily. Do you have any skincare secrets you’d like to share? If so, don’t forget to include the #AveenoSkincareSecrets hashtag if you decide to share them on Twitter. I would like to hear some skincare secrets from my fellow bloggers Alex at IHeartBeauty and Gio at BeautifulWithBrains. Aveeno have a great Facebook page here where you can apply to receive a sample, so head on over if you fancy trying it for yourself.

I’m a huge fan of Aveeno too …. my skincare secret is when I get very dry skin on my feet … before bedtime I apply a very strong food cream and then sleep in a pair of socks so the cream can get to work while I sleep.
