I am such a sucker for anything “brow” and I really do love a perfected yet natural brow, which is why I was very excited to get my hands on the new Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Brow Gels. Bobbi Brown do some of the very best, luxury brow products you can get, and their shade range is always brilliant, with an excellent example of this provided in these Long-Wear Brow Gels.
There are eight (!!) shades available in total, covering an extremely decent spectrum of colour, from the pale and ashy Wheat shade that’s perfect for those of us who are very fair but don’t want anything too red or warm, right through to the deep greying black of Saddle, which is suggested for very dark hair. What’s great about these is that they’re very buildable, so as long as you pick your right leaning (cool or warm) you’ll be able to make most shades work for you as they blend out fantastically.
I was sent two shades – Blonde and Saddle – alongside the accompanying Dual-Ended Brow Definer/Groomer Brush, which is a very well made brush with a lovely, firm spoolie that works to not only comb unruly brows into place, but also to soften any harsh lines if you’re a bit overeager with your brow gel application. The other end of the brush is also the perfect firmness for applying light-yet-buildable strokes of colour to make filling in brows a very quick and simple task. If you already have something similar in your kit then this isn’t an absolute essential, but if you’re looking for a new multi-use brow brush then this one is fab.
Proving my earlier point re being able to get away with most colours, I’ve actually used both Blonde and Saddle in the “after” picture above. Blonde is a slightly ashy light to mid brown and Saddle, as I said, is a much deeper shade. I’ve used Blonde on the bulk of my brows to fill, define and build, then I’ve used Saddle at the outer third to add a bit more depth and definition. The brilliant thing about the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Brow Gels is they’re slightly waxy without being too tricky to work with – the consistency is just right – so the product performs all the necessary tasks of brow colour, as well as those of a brow fixer too. These are surprisingly well priced at £17 a go, especially as one pot will last you quite a while as you don’t use very much each time. The Dual-Ended Brow Definer/Groomer Brush is £26 and both are available from Bobbi Brown online and instore.
