As we currently have a bit of sun to work with, now seems like a good time to introduce you to a trio of new facial SPFs from some awesome brands. Facial SPF preference is so personal, as everyone likes their to provide something different; for me, a good facial SPF will add a bit more hydration, sink into skin well, ideally have an SPF of 50 and feel pleasant to use. Here are three recently launched facial SPFs for anyone who’s in the market to try something new:
I was very excited to try the Capital Soleil UV Age Daily SPF50+ Facial Sunscreen because it ticks so many of my boxes, but annoyingly it contains Niacinamide, which my skin absolutely hates. Thankfully I’m in the minority with my Niacinamide issue, so if you’re okay with it, then this is a brilliant SPF that provides a great mix of skincare benefits alongside a nice and high level of SPF – it’s also serum-like in consistency, so a great choice for those who don’t like anything too heavy. It’s £21 at Boots here – link.
Next up is the Typology SPF30 Face Sunscreen with Aloe Vera which is a lovely, lightweight formula that’s gentle and soothing and probably a good fit for most skin types, but as it doesn’t feel greasy on, I’d say oily skin types would get on best with this. I have such a soft spot for Typology as their products are so pretty and apothecary-like, but the formulas are sensible and credible, so if you haven’t had a chance to try anything from them yet, I’d really recommend having a virtual wander around their site. This is £27.40 here – link.
Out of this trio of newness, the product that’s suited my needs most of all is the The Body Shop Skin Defence Multi-Protection Lotion SPF 50+, because it works really well under makeup, gives my skin a touch more hydration without too much greasiness and has a great, high SPF of 50. It’s £18 for 40ml and £22 for 60ml here – link.
