For me, the ultimate bit of indulgence is something from Chanel, so when I’m due a treat, I tend to head to a Chanel counter. John Lewis often do price match days where they knock 10% off the majority of the products in their beauty hall to match competitors and this includes Chanel, so when I headed to my local shopping centre with the intention of treating myself and realised that Chanel had 10% off, it’s safe to say I didn’t need much encouragement. During my little binge I also picked us the much-hyped Les Beiges which I’ll be reviewing soon.
Chanel Rouge Coco Shines are the original Lip Butters aren’t they? Super hydrating with a good slick of colour, housed in the familiar Chanel black lipstick casing with the Double C emblem at the top.
I absolutely love Rouge Coco Shines and I have about five now I think. I wanted to pick up something that wasn’t my usual go-to pink, so I opted for Monte-Carlo which is a red with slight pink leanings. It’s extremely flattering and can be built-up to quite an impressive colour payoff, as demonstrated in the pictures.
It’s a little bit ‘tomatoey’ in tone, but has just enough pink to keep teeth looking white and cool skins looking warm. I’d say this is an ideal red for fair skinned girls who struggle with anything too bright. The hydrating formula of the Rouge Coco Shines ensures this stays as flattering as possible, adding plenty of gloss and slip so the finish is pretty and girly. This is definitely by go to red, especially as it can be slicked on for daytime or built-up for night time, making it not terrible value at £24. Available from all the usual outlets including Boots.
