La Prairie is a brand of luxury, Swiss skincare who are probably most known for their infamous Skin Caviar line, of which products are widely reported to be extremely effective in the battle against anti-aging. Thankfully, I’m not quite ready to jump feet first into an anti-aging skincare routine, as I’m still busy battling breakouts, but there are some products from the La Prairie line that piqued my interest, one of which was the Anti-Aging Foundation.
The La Prairie Anti-Aging Foundation is designed to perform as both a make-up and skincare product, very much like a supercharged BB Cream with a lot more to offer. Obviously it’s designed for skin that is older than mine, or at least more dry or dehydrated, so it’s chock full of nourishing goodies that will quench even the thirstiest of skins. I’m so used to make-up items designed for older skin being very sheer in coverage and focusing more on skincare benefits – as if the coverage is an afterthought – but that is most definitely not the case with this one!
The coverage is phenomenal for a product that I really wasn’t expecting to offer much in terms of cover. As you can in the image (I’m wearing shade 100), all redness and pigmentation is taken care of, and you can only really see the shape of my breakouts rather than the spots themselves. The finish, as you’d expect, is very dewy, so skin types like mine will need powder and quite a bit of it. Unfortunately, for me, this was just too rich and made my hormonal, breakout-prone skin worse, which is a real shame as it’s one of those make-up products that you feel is doing your skin some good, but it’s just way too rich for skin that is already producing too much oil. This would be amazing on anyone with combination, normal or dry skin; if you’re seeking really high coverage, a lovely dewy finish and heaps of skincare benefits, then this is the foundation for you. La Prairie Anti-Aging Foundation is available now from John Lewis for £70.

Wow!!! This seems like a great product to try out based on your review. I am impressed with its coverage. I’ll def check on this.
It’s coverage is seriously good, and as long as you don’t have very oily/spot-prone skin then this is amazing! xx
Wow the coverage! This would probably be almost perfect for me in Winter but that price is insane! 🙁
Amazing isn’t it? It is extremely expensive sadly 🙁 definitely a great winter foundation though! xx
