Few things make me happier than a skincare launch that exceeds my expectations by delivering on all levels, and a good example of that is the new Trilogy Hydra-Tone Softening Lotion. Softening Lotions are a bit of a new thing to us Brits, having been popular for a while in Asia they’re now finally making their way over to our commercial market. The idea of a Softening Lotion is to perform the same task of a toner, but without the astringent element and with added conditioning benefits, meaning skin is being toned sensitively and with a reduction in ingredients that might upset skin. This also helps with the PH balance of skin making this a generally kinder toner all round.
The Trilogy Hydra-Tone Softening Lotion is part of the Age Proof line of Trilogy products. The key ingredients are hyaluronic acid, marshmallow and ylang ylang, the latter of which gives it a lovely gentle fragrance. There’s also white tea for antioxidant protection mulberry to brighten. The lotion is pretty thick for a toner and is more like a runny gel which you squeeze on to a cotton pad and wipe over your face in typical toner-style (not Gangnam Style) which leaves skin feeling really lovely; conditioned, nourished and calm. You then carry on with your routine following with whatever oils, serums or creams you’re using. For me, this is a real pleasure to use and I love the fact that it slots into my existing routine. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and I’ve barely dented the surface, so I think it will last quite some time too! A few times a week I like to use my P50 followed by this and my skin feels awesome afterwards. I really rate this and if you’re a bit of a skincare junkie then I think you’ll love this too. It launches in September for £19.50 and will be available in all the usual Trilogy stockists such as John Lewis and Debenhams.
