The bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream has been around for a while now – I first featured it in March 2015 here – but I wanted to include it in my Foundation Files series as it’s such a lovely product that I’m especially looking forward to making use of when I go away in September. The bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream is pretty much as it sounds; a beautifully hydrating, yet surprisingly light, tinted cream that will give you just a touch of coverage and even everything out.
The bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream feels gorgeous on the skin and is very natural, leaving skin looking plump and dewy. Some days I can get away with just this, although whenever my rosacea is playing up, I like to go in with a bit of concealer too…enter, the *amazing* BarePro 16-Hour Full Coverage Concealer, which is one of those rare concealers that’s creamy, comfortable, easy-to-blend, yet provides a buildable coverage level for a natural finish, meaning you can use it for both under the eye are and covering spots and blemishes. It’s truly fantastic and I reach for it everyday.
I like to apply the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream with a sponge, mainly because I like to apply all base products with sponges nowadays, but if you prefer a brush, there’s the Smoothing Face Brush, which is a soft, dual-fibre brush that allows you to gently and seamlessly buff the product in.
As you can see in the pictures above, I was having a bit of a job with redness when I took the pictures, but the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream does a fab job at reducing the redness and toning everything down, evening everything out and leaving skin looking hydrated. I then went in with the BarePro concealer on cheeks and chin blemishes which made all the difference, plus I also used it under the eyes to brighten and lift.
The bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream is a perfect product for low maintenance make-up days, but if you’re used to more coverage then this might not be the product for you. Having said that, I think if you can, use a product like this followed by a really good concealer for a great, natural finish. The bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream is available in 16 shades (I’m Opal) for £28 here – link. The BarePro Concealer comes in 15 shades (I’m Fair Cool) for £23 here – link. Finally, the Smoothing Face Brush is £24 here – link.
