As my mask obsession shows no signs of waning, I’ve decided to make a regular feature reviewing my recent mask usage which I’ll aim to post every Monday, for no other reason than because “Mask Monday” sounds a lot better than “Mask Thursday” or similar….Moving on; The Body Shop have several lovely potted masks that contain very natural looking, thick masks that really appeal to my virtuous side (I do have one) as there’s something about scooping up a dollop of something that looks edible and spreading it across your face. This particular Honey and Oat mask was the first mask I ever used and I remember it well; I was given a little goody bag of The Body Shop products for Christmas and I had no idea what to do with them – I think I would’ve been around 10 – so I had to rely on my cousin to show me the ropes. At the time I was so incredibly excited to have these little beauty goodies to play with that I should’ve known then that I’d end up developing such an obsession.
The Body Shop Honey & Oat 3in1 Scrub and Mask, is, as the name suggests, a multitasking product that deep cleanses, exfoliates and moisturises skin. It’s sold as a mask for normal to dry skin types but I really think absolutely anyone could use this; for me, this is the sort of mask that would slot into anybody’s routine and as it provides a multitude of functions, it’s a great option for anyone who doesn’t fancy committing a lot of time to an at-home facial/mask routine. The mask itself is a thick, gloopy product that really does look like porridge with a slightly sweet, oaty smell. The oats supply the exfoliation and the rough texture which make this ideal for anyone who likes to manually exfoliate but wants to cut back on anything too rough – this will not scratch your skin as the oats are very soft, but it will supply en0ugh of a buff when you’re removing the mask.
This mask has made me very nostalgic and it kind of takes me back to old school beauty, where you’d slather your face in something rich and lumpy whilst relaxing in the bath. Skin feels lovely after use; smooth, moisturised and gently buffed, so this is another one for my regular use drawer. Bit of a tip, when removing, make sure you’re leaning over the sink as the oat lumps can go all over the place. This is £10 here – link – and there’s currently 40% (!!) off at The Body Shop, so you can snap this up for a rather ridiculous £6 – well worth stocking up at this price.
