Skincare brand Rodial have recently launched a line of luxury make-up items, most of which are designed around creating the perfect base, either with covering, illuminating, contouring or sculpting. The range is fab, it has to be said, and I want pretty much of all of, although my favourites are the brushes and the products designed for contouring such as the powders and the Eye Sculpt, but more on that later!
The launch of the make-up compliments the arrival of the Rodial Sculpting Bar at Harvey Nichols, which is a make-up counter like most others with stock of the full range, however, you can also book in for quick demonstrations of contouring and looks such as a strong lip or a model brow. It’s well worth investigating if you don’t know where to start with contouring or similar techniques.
I popped along there a few weeks ago and had an extremely helpful session with one of the make-up artists who talked me through the product range and showed me the basics of contouring. The big thing I took away from the experience was the brilliance of the little pot of Eye Sculpt, which is the perfect ashy, murky brown for creating shadows on the face and eyes – don’t be put-off by the fact that it’s called Eye Sculpt as it really can be used everywhere and this was demonstrated on me by using it as a contour/shadow creator all over the face as well as a brow filler, an eyeshadow in the crease of the eye and smudged below the eye too. Using the same colour for so many things created an extremely natural, uniform finish that I really liked, so I’m very happy to have Eye Sculpt in my kit now! I’ll be following up with further reviews of the products but in the meantime, the range can be found here – link.
