There are some very cool things coming our way from Sleek MakeUp, with some great blushers that bloggers are raving about, but more on that in another post. Today I thought I’d show you the latest limited edition collection from the brand, the Sleek Nautical Collection, which comprises of three products; the i-Divine in Calm Before the Storm, a Blush by 3 in Santa Marina and lastly the True Colour Lipstick in Reddy to Sail.
Starting with the Blush by 3 in the Santa Marina combination, which contains 2 shimmer blushers and 1 matte shade, with the matte shade being the central colour in the trio. All three shades are peach-leaning with the left shade providing the deepest hit of colour of the three, in an almost berry toned peach, then the right shade is a more traditional shimmery peach. The middle, matte shade is very light and I can’t imagine will bring much colour to many complexions other than the very pale, so it’s likely to come into its own during the colder months.
The Reddy to Sail shade of the True Colour Lipstick is described as a coral-red, but I’d say this is a pretty true red that’s fairly bright and suits the collection well. It’s my least favourite of the three, but it definitely has it’s place in the Nautical theme as I can really see it paired with the bright blues in the i-Divine – a very dated, 80’s look, but if you’re going to do blue eyeshadow, you might as well take it the whole way!
Finally, the i-Divine in Calm Before the Storm which I actually like a lot more than I thought I would. I am not a blue/green shadow wearer as I don’t think bright blue shadow looks very good with my colourings, but having said that, if anything’s going to sway me, it’ll be an i-Divine and this one is no exception. It’s got such a great selection of colours with some very wearable grey-blues and forest greens, alongside more neutral shades of taupe and burnt orange.
My favourites from the bunch are Voyage…and pretty much every shade on the bottom row; check out that lovely deep sea green of Lagoon and the pretty, shimmery, almost-metallic mint shade of Seaweed – wouldn’t you say these are some very wearable colours? I really like the Sleek MakeUP Nautical collection as I think it’s very cleverly constructed, everything goes together (and has clearly been thought about) and it’s pretty fun too. Everything is available now from Sleek – link – Boots, and Superdrug.
