The Emma Hardie Exfoliating Brightening Tonic is a lovely, light exfoliator that works really well in routines that need the gentle touch. I’ve been pretty set with my skincare routine for the last year or so, but I have started introducing a couple of new bits here and there, especially since I’ve always really missed having chemical exfoliators in my routine; the Emma Hardie Exfoliating Brightening Tonic is the ideal product for those who have very active routines, such as retinol fans like me.
Emma Hardie Exfoliating Brightening Tonic is beautifully scented with jasmine, and is housed in an attractive bottle with a spray top. You use it by spraying onto a cotton pad and gently wiping over the face, in much the same way you would with a traditional toner. This gives skin just enough of an exfoliation, leaving it looking and feeling smoother and brighter – it’s also gentle enough for morning use, if you’re someone who enjoys a morning exfoliation. I use this a few times a week, in the evening, on my ‘retinol off days’, and I apply it, let it dry, then follow with a hydrating serum and a rich oil. This works like a mini facial for me, so it’s great if you have a special occasion that you need a boost for. The main thing I like about this (other than the scent!) is how gentle it is, as I think these types of exfoliators can be quite aggressive, but this is lovely and shouldn’t cause any reactions on even the most sensitive of skin types, but of course, if in doubt, patch test and ease yourself in gently. It’s £28 for 100ml, and if you love a routine that’s very sensory and haven’t tried anything from Emma Hardie before, grab this tonic and use it after the beautiful (and cult) Moringa Cleansing Balm.
I’m almost finished this and need to buy a back up! I love it! xx
