I’ve been writing about my love for beauty for over a decade and at age 39, I’m still at it! I love all things that fall under the beauty umbrella, particularly luxury and indulgent skincare, natural-looking makeup and floral fragrances. I also have a soft spot for long baths and fancy bath foams.
I have had an ongoing battle with acne for most of my adult life, so here I share the products and treatments that help, as well as those that don’t. All of the products featured in the “favourite things” carousel below are products I use and love. I live in London with my beautiful son, Teddy.

I love all makeup, but I’m definitely a ‘natural look’ lover at heart, so I’ll always gravitate towards the “my looks, but better” style products. If you’re the same, you will love this highlighter, as it adds the most fantastically subtle hit of gentle, glass-like glow, so you can apply it pretty much anywhere that would benefit from a bit of extra lighting.
I also like to use this to put a bit of life back into matte lipsticks (here I’m wearing the Infallible Matte Resistance lipstick in shade Worth It, also from L’Oreal Paris) since a very matte finish can easily look quite flat on me.

First up, apologies to Heimish as I’ve had this video sitting in my folder awaiting editing for absolutely ages! On the plus side, it’s nice to see how far my skin has come in the last year or so 😆
In this reel I have used:
Moringa Ceramide BB Cream SPF 30 PA in the shade 21 Light Beige which was definitely the wrong shade and I don’t know why I didn’t go for 19 Fair Beige since it’s a much better match! I used this as an all over base as well as a concealer on areas that needed extra help.
For application I used the Artless Rubycell Puff which I purchased a while ago as I love these types of cushion/pad hybrids for patting in product.
I used the Dailism Lip Gloss in shade Pink Coral on both lips and cheeks. The other shades swatched are Nudie Rose, Rosy Coral, Sheer Red, Cherry Red and Red Wine. Nudie Rose and Cherry Road are gorgeous shades too.
I set everything in place with the Moringa Ceramide Pressed Setting Powder that is perfect for mattifying without a cakey finish, especially when applied with a soft brush.
Finally, the Dailism Smudge Stop Mascara in Curling, which really did help hold curl and is great if you like a very natural look.

StyleKorean kindly sent me four products to try, all of which focus on providing gentle hydration and soothing irritation, without adding any additional issues, such as causing breakouts. I was able to use all four products as none of them contained Niacinamide, YAY!
The Mild But Deep Cleansing Water quickly became a favourite for my morning cleanse as it’s gentle (even on sensitive eyes like mine) smells like skincare and it works really well at prepping my skin for the rest of the routine.
The Kelp Concentrate Synergy Mask is basically a pot of toner pads infused with a soothing and hydrating essence that feels so calming on the skin, making it great for breakouts; it also actually stays in place which is quite rare for these types of sheet masks!
Full disclosure, I haven’t used the Licorice First Essence enough to provide an informed opinion, but early impressions are good; it’s a lightweight hydrator that’s anti-inflammatory too, so a great choice for those of us with sensitive or breakout-prone skin.
Finally, the All-In-One Ectoin Lotion is my favourite of the quad (the cleansing water a very close second) as this is a beautifully formulated hydrator that’s rich yet light, full of gorgeous goodies like ceramides and fatty acids, it’s truly lovely.

I so rarely get the chance to go into Central London nowadays (even though I actually live in North London!) so, when L’Oreal invited me in for the exciting experience of meeting the icon that is Val Garland, whilst finding out what’s new and soon-to-launch from the brand, I decided to make a day of it by parking up and having a mooch around Covent Garden, which I can do now I have a mobility scooter!
Covent Garden was absolutely freezing, so I grabbed some doughnuts which were made to order; not only did they taste incredible, they also doubled as a hand warmer in the little bag, which was very needed!
I made my way to the L’Oreal event and got to catch-up with some friends who I know through blogging and IG which was so much fun. It was such a great mix of people and we all had the common love of makeup which made for a really enjoyable experience.
Val took to the stage and demonstrated some incredible makeup looks, whilst talking through what she was doing, providing hints, tips and tricks and answering questions as she went along. It was truly inspiring, giving me lots of ideas on new ways to work with product.
We then got a chance to have our picture taken with Val, who was so warm and welcoming. I included the video of us “holding pose” for photos because I think it looks like I’m giving her an excessively meaningful hug 🤣
The absolute cherry on the cake was the phenomenal goody bag that we got to take home, featuring all the newness (there is SO MUCH I can’t wait to share with you) that we then added to with personalised picks from the existing collection. Obviously I couldn’t wait to get stuck-in, so I finished up with a full face of beautiful L’Oreal goodies.
