I’ve been writing about my love for beauty for over a decade and at age 39, I’m still at it! I love all things that fall under the beauty umbrella, particularly luxury and indulgent skincare, natural-looking makeup and floral fragrances. I also have a soft spot for long baths and fancy bath foams.
I have had an ongoing battle with acne for most of my adult life, so here I share the products and treatments that help, as well as those that don’t. All of the products featured in the “favourite things” carousel below are products I use and love. I live in London with my beautiful son, Teddy.

The first thing that struck me about the Bright Reveal range is how many sunscreen option there are; if you’re battling pigmentation (or even if you’re not!!) the sunscreen should be at the top of your list of skincare priorities.
Bright Reveal relies on the gentle wonder that is Niacinamide to help gently lift discolouration and pigmentation. I can’t use Niacinamide as my skin doesn’t tolerate it, but if your skin isn’t a tantrum thrower like mine, then this is a range well worth checking out, especially for help with acne marks and PIH.

Yesterday I got to pop along to an event to launch a new electric vehicle from BYD (Build Your Dreams) set in the fabulous surroundings of Alexandra Palace. I got some great food, met some very cool people, and found out lots about the newest member of the BYD family, the Dolphin Surf.
If you’ve ever looked into making the transition to an electric vehicle, you’ll know just how expensive the initial outlay is, making it something that is out of reach for many. BYD wanted to change that by ensuring their Dolphin Surf was accessible and available to everyone, so the price point is extremely affordable, with an array of upgrades and add-ons available to meet all budgets, as well as monthly payment options too.
It has an unbelievably speedy charge time (from 10% - 80% in 30 mins!!) and a reassuringly solid safety and performance spec, but most importantly (to me, at least) it comes with some very exciting tech: think things like voice control and Apple CarPlay, a Karaoke function (!!) and all of this is presented to you in a beautiful touch-screen.
You are getting so much for your money, and I am genuinely impressed with the design, functionality and fun that you get from what is sure to be a very popular and enjoyable EV.

Happy Friday, lovelies! What’s your favourite NYX PMU brow product?

I’m always eternally grateful to NYX PMU for offering an affordable range of inclusive brow products, with some great shade options for those of us who need cool-toned colours that are pale-girl friendly; their Taupe shade is iconic for a reason!
I was kindly sent a selection of Taupey goodness to try:
For brows that won’t budge, kick things off with the amazing Brow Glue Instant Brow Styler, and make sure you really push it under the brow hairs as well as on top, then press the brow hairs down and use a spoolie to get your desired shape.
The Blade ‘n’ Shade Eyebrow Pencil has an angled tip, which is great for a number of things, such as sketching out the shape of the brow, or adding additional strokes to mimic the “nano blade” style. You can also use the fatter edge to add more colour in sparse areas, so it’s a very versatile product.
Next, I used the Lift and Snatch Brow Tint Pen to fill in any areas where growth is sparse. This is an extremely popular product that I see everywhere, but I’m in the minority as I usually prefer to use pencils - I struggle to get ink to show up on my brows, for some reason, whereas waxier pencils are much easier for me.
Finishing off with my favourite of the bunch, the Powder Louder Brow Pencil, which promises “voluminous and naturally diffused brows” and it really does deliver, giving that beautifully soft, natural finish and it is is so easy to use too! It’s become my staple brow product and will definitely be a repurchase.

haruharu wonder have quickly become my favourite K-Beauty brand, so I’m excited to share with you two awesome new launches 🪻

First up we have the Black Rice 5 Ceramide Barrier Moisturizing Cream is probably my favourite skincare launch of the year so far, as it is just the dreamiest product for my very tricky skin. I will be giving this beauty it’s own dedicated post as, quite frankly, it would be wrong not to, but the takeaway today should be that if you struggle to find a rich cream that doesn’t break you out and feels *amazing* on the skin, this is the one for you.
The Black Bamboo Daily Smoothing Body Oil is a bit of a confusingly named product as it isn’t an oil at all, more like a milky serum (or a “milky oil” as mentioned on the packaging) but it’s beautifully packaged product that leaves skin feeling lightly nourished, even the next day. The scent is not my favourite, but it fades quickly and doesn’t interfere with my other fragrances. I really enjoy using this after a bath as I love anything that sinks in quickly, especially as it hydrates so well.

Today I’m sharing with you some of the fabulous breakout-busters from Mario Badescu; a brand I have a soft spot for as I imported their Drying Lotion years and years ago, before it was available in the UK, and I remember patiently awaiting the delivery, back when everything took absolutely ages.

💚 Gentle Foaming Cleanser: this is a perfect, basic cleanser that lightly foams without stripping the skin, whilst still leaving it feeling clean and fresh.
💚 Repairing Facial Spray with Hypochlorous Acid: I have to tread carefully with Hypochlorous Acid as it breaks me out (yes, really, my skin is that ridiculous) but I love using it to gently clean my beauty tech devices like my LED mask!
💚 Facial Spray with Aloe Herb & Rose Water: light, refreshing and fragrant - this is an ideal step for hydrating skin through your skincare routine.
💚 Drying Patches: exactly how pimple patches should be! Extremely thin and full of skincare goodies that’ll help speed-up the clearing process.
💚 Drying Lotion: use the patches in the day and the lotion at night; this will basically suffocate the bacteria and kill the spot in its tracks.

I have been wanting to have this area lightly filled for quite some time and when I won the giveaway with @surgicareaesthetics I thought I’d grab the opportunity to get it done.
I saw the fabulous Dr Gakhal who mapped out my face and showed me exactly what needed to be done to achieve the extremely subtle results I was seeking; I then received a total of 1ml of filler via a fairly painless canula that was then massaged into position and I was very happy with the results!
Today I look absolutely knackered which isn’t helping things, but I would love to know if you can tell where the filler was put - vote in the poll below and I’ll share an update soon!
