All the best things happen on 14th March; it’s the day I celebrate my birthday, plus it’s also the very last day you’ll be able to get your hands on this beautiful polish collection, the Essie Retro Revival 2017, which is a collection of six discontinued but hugely popular (then why discontinue them, Essie? WHY?!) shades and I’ve got five of them to show you today.
I can totally see why these were brought back as they really are a lovely edit of colours and there’s only really one shade that I think I would be unlikely to wear myself. It’s a pink-heavy collection, so it’s inevitably going to be a collection that I like, but those who aren’t a fan of pink are still well covered with the other three shades.
The six shades following the order in the pictures, are: Chastity – a bright bubblegum pink that I’m currently sporting on my nails (I’ll Instagram soon); Sweet Tart – a mushroom nude flecked with a slightly pink sparkle that really is very pretty; Bold Beauty – a traditional deep red that’s very vampy and a great pedicure shade; Pure Chiffon – a slightly sparkly and very warm, yellowy gold with quite a sheer finish and finally Flawless – a more demure pink that’s quite nude-leaning and great for an everyday look.
The shade I don’t have is Prima Bella, which is a sparkly mid pink that looks quite pretty, but it’s a little dated – it’s the sort of shade that always makes me think of the 80’s…so I supposed it’s well suited to a retro revival collection! As you can see, they’re lovely shades and all areas are covered with a couple of decent nudes, some very pretty pinks and a vampy number for good measure. As I said, you haven’t got long to snap these up (14th March is the final day they’re officially available) so you might want to get cracking, especially as Boots currently have a Buy One Get One Half Price on these shades, which are £7.99 each here – link.
