I am in skincare heaven right now with a bevy of new and exciting products, and right at the top of my “to try” list is the Elemis Superfood extension products, which join the already successful Superfood line. There are four new products, all of which are innovative, exciting and the sort of thing that I can’t get enough of. As the name suggests, the Elemis Superfood line takes from nature to provide products that are nutrient-dense and packed full of skincare goodies such as omega fatty acids, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals and Pre-Biotics, the latter of which is perfectly timed as I think 2019 is the year for Pre-Biotic skincare. Another couple of pluses are that the range is Vegan-friendly and smells good enough to eat!
The product I was least excited about was the Elemis Superfood Blackcurrant Jelly Exfoliator, and if you read my blog with any regularity you’ll know that this is because I’m not a big fan of manual exfoliators. Having said that, there are a few that I keep in my kit, because sometimes you can’t beat that buffed-skin feeling, and I have to say, this one really is a lovely product. It kind of reminds me of the coffee scrubs you get for the body, as the gel that holds the exfoliating particles (Blackcurrant Fruit Pulp) is rich and oily, so the result is a really pampering experience. On application this starts to warm as you move it around the face, so it’s a truly multi-purpose product that leaves skin looking and feeling impressively smooth without any aggressive exfoliation needed. It’s £28 here – link.
Next is the product I think has got most people talking, the Elemis Superfood Kefir-Tea Mist. This is a really simple yet lovely spray that provides a multitude of benefts and is promoted as a 4-in-1 treatment to tone, prime, set make-up and provide on-the-go hydration. It’s key ingredients are Soy-derived Kefit Ferment which brightens and tones, Organic Rooibos Tea that helps boost radiance and mineral and vitamin rich Coconut Water for Hydration. For me, the new Superfood quad have a real spa-like feel to them and I think this mist works really well within that, as it feels great on the skin – especially as part of a layering ritual but also after masks. It’s £26 here – link.
The Elemis Superfood Berry Boost Mask is a very exciting product, as it’s a clay-led mask designed to balance and purify tricky skin, but it’s also packed full of such lovely ingredients that it doesn’t feel like your typical, suck-all-the-life-out-of-my-skin clay treatment; instead it feels wonderfully pampering (that word again – but it describes the range perfectly!) and very much like the sort of facial mask you’d have applied during a fancy facial. The clay is Brazilian which is naturally purple and gives the product it’s berry colour, whilst the Blackcurrant Seed Oil and Nordic Bilberry Extract give it it’s fruity aroma and help to balance and hydrate the skin. The Black Tea Extract also aids in promoting clarity, making this a lovely choice for anyone prone to breakouts and excess oiliness who needs an effective treatment that’ll leave skin feeling balanced rather than parched. It’s £30 here – link. Finally, the Elemis Superfood Vital Veggie Mask is the product I’m personally most excited about – I’ll be featuring it in my Mask Monday series shortly, so keep an eye out for the full review! I won’t go into too much detail other than to say that this is a creamy mask packed full of goodies such as Avocado and Chia Seed Oils to provide hydration and fatty acids, Passionfruit Acids to brighten and give a very light exfoliation and Wheatgrass Extract to nourish. I’ll add a link to my review of this mask as soon as it’s live. You can find it here – link – for £30.
