There are quite a few things that have enhanced/eased my lockdown experience, so I’ve decided to do a mini-series focusing on sharing them with you guys, as hopefully you’ll find them equally handy. I have to kickoff the series with my newest obsession, English Soap Company Soap Bars, because not only are they a very timely feature, they are honestly just amazing in every way – a perfect example of a basic, everyday product done exceptionally well.
The English Soap Company has a huge range of various toiletries and candles, but their soap bar range is beyond belief, with every fragrance, taste and desire catered to. I was sent a selection of five soap bars to try, and the minute they arrived, they filled my home with bright and beautiful fragrance – all my deliveries go into a kind of mini quarantine for three days (my son is high risk, so I have to be extra careful) and I was chomping at the bit to get stuck into these beauties. Not only are they huge, they’re affordable, they’re practical and they’re very attractive too!
Hand-washing is such an important task, now more so than ever, yet it’s not the most pleasant of experiences; I’ve been obsessively washing my hands at least 20 times a day since the Coronavirus kicked-off, and my hands felt dry, tight and uncomfortable. The first soap I used from The English Soap Company was the Lemongrass and Lime Kew Garden Soap, which has the brightest, most cheerful scent I think I’ve ever come across in a soap – my bathroom smells amazing!
The massive bar of soap is enriched with shea butter which stops your hands from drying out, plus it also contains poppy seeds which lightly exfoliate hands after each use. This is the sort of soap that I would give people as a thank you present – my mum is receiving a lot of help where she lives and asks if I could suggest some flowers for her to give to those who were helping, but I recommended she instead picked up a few of these soaps as they are affordable yet still have that luxury feel and would make a wonderful present.
Another great thing about the English Soap Company Soap bars is the huge variety available; they’ve got so many different scents and you could spend ages on there putting together a lovely little package of affordable treats – I’ve already started work on my order, which is ridiculous considering the soaps I have will last forever (even at the rate my household is hand-washing) as they are such a generous size. Also, not only is the packaging really pretty, it holds the scent really well too, so you can use them in drawers/cupboards to add a touch of fragrance and get even more out of your purchase.
I think the thing I love most of all about these glorious soap bars is that they are making an essential, rather dull necessity feel a lot more enjoyable – I genuinely look forward to using my soap bar…I never thought I’d be the sort of person to say such a thing, but here we are! I implore you to take a few minutes and have a good look around the English Soap Company site – think of your favourite fragrance note (mine is jasmine) and put it in the search bar and prepare to be amazed by the sheer variety. Prices start at £4.95 – link.
