The boys have been well and truly taken care of with the James Bond fragrances, so now it’s the girl’s turn! The James Bond 007 For Her fragrance is inspired by the “dangerously seductive nature of Bond women” and consequently is an effectively sexy and feminine scent that’s a little bit of a crowd-pleaser, based on the notes, but absolutely lovely nonetheless.
The blackened, “diamond cut” style bottle matches the scent and inspiration behind the scent really well; it’s chic, simple and attractive without being OTT in any way. The fragrance itself is a good mix of fruits, white flowers, with bed of musk and cedar, plus the obligatory happy notes of vanilla and jasmine. The top notes are black pepper, rose and bergamot which make for a zingy and spicy opening. At the middle the white flowers dominate thanks to gardenia and jasmine, but there’s also a softening berry note thanks to blackberries. The base notes are white musk, cedar and black vanilla husk, all of which give a surprisingly earthy finish without any notable trace of the fruity notes, although you can definitely still pick up on the white flowers.
There’s nothing complex or overly exciting here, but the fragrance is a lovely, easy, everyday scent that you’ll like if you’re a fan of floral, musky scents with a little bit of fruit in the mix. Considering how many lighter fragrance notes are included, this isn’t sickly, sweet or tacky, and instead stays comfortably in the area of “pretty”, which I think is thanks to the stronger, less feminine base notes. However, the base notes of musk and cedar are kept sweetened by the vanilla, so all-in-all, the notes work really well together to create an affordable and attractively presented fragrance that’s light and comfortable to wear. 30ml starts at £25, 50ml is £30 (both here – link), however, there are also 75ml and 100ml bottles available if you shop around.
