Welcome to Beauty Geek
Thank you so much for visiting
I’ve been writing about my love for beauty for over a decade and at age 39, I’m still at it! I love all things that fall under the beauty umbrella, particularly luxury and indulgent skincare, natural-looking makeup and floral fragrances. I also have a soft spot for long baths and fancy bath foams.
I have had an ongoing battle with acne for most of my adult life, so here I share the products and treatments that help, as well as those that don’t. All of the products featured in the “favourite things” carousel below are products I use and love. I live in London with my beautiful son, Teddy.
If you fancy being social, you can find me at all the sites below. Please come and say “hi!”

I am a teeny, tiny bit late (Hello October!) with my look at the September Glossybox, but I’ve decided to share it for two reasons; firstly, it was a good box with fab goodies so it deserves some attention, secondly, it allows me to announce my blog post that I published today that shares everything you need to know about the Glossybox Advent Calendar for 2023 - you are going to want to have a read as I can’t believe the amazing products and brands that are included!
I’ve got a link in my bio that’ll take you directly to the Glossybox advent, and here’s a quick breakdown of what was included in the September box:
Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion
theBalm Staniac Lip and Cheek Stain
Grace and Stella Rosewater Spray
Daily Concepts Body Scrubber
Wild Science Lab Root + Fruit Night Shift Renewal Eye Serum
I’m most excited to use the eye serum because I am a sucker for a good eye product, how about you?
Glossybox monthly subscriptions start at £11.50 per month. I just saw a sneak preview of the October box and it is looking mighty fine 🤩

Roccabox currently have a collaborative box with Makeup Revolution and it is SO GOOD! You get six, full-sized makeup products for £25 - the value individually would come to £63, so it’s a really good saving for some truly lovely products. Here’s what you get:
✨XXude Satin Liquid Lipstick in shade Illegal
✨Glow Ultra Glow Highlighter in shade Lustre
✨The Mascara Revolution
✨XXposure Highlighter Powder in shade Strike or Frequency (pictured is Frequency)
✨Candy Haze Cloud Gazer Eyeshadow Palette
✨Bright Light Radiant Primer
Such a great selection and such a bargain! I personally (rather predictably...) love the palette, but I also think the Ultra Glow Highlighter is a beautiful shade, plus it’s huge, too!
✨I’ve included a link in my bio if you fancy grabbing this bargain. Which product would you want to try first? ✨

💚 It was love at first use with the new Athletia Eye Zone Care Cream, as it’s just one of those products that serves a very specific purpose and it does it so, so well.
This beautifully formulated eye treatment is designed to hydrate the delicate eye area thanks to the Water Lipid formula, and if you pair it with some gentle eye massage, it’ll tackle signs of tiredness and excessive digital exposure too.
I attended a virtual class that provided me with some great techniques on how to massage this in; obviously this was several days ago so I’ve forgotten about 90% of what I learned (very on-brand) but the remaining 10% has given me a really good technique that I’ve been using both AM and PM and I feel like this has made such a difference to how my eye cream absorbs and settles on the skin.
No only does this smell lovely (but naturally so - no unpleasant perfume-y fragrance) and feel gorgeous on the skin, it sinks in well, sits perfectly under makeup and brilliantly hydrates the eye area: I could not ask for more and this has become a daily feature in my skincare routine.
It’s £45 and I’ve included a link in my bio. At the moment, you can also get a GWP of the Core Balance Duo, an iconic set from the brand that contains a skincare oil which you apply to the skin, before finishing with the toner - a really unique combo that you currently can get for free with a purchase of the Eye Zone Care Cream 💚

On the blog today, you will find a little look at what’s included, starting off with some of my favourites, before I go on to reveal the full contents in each category.
This calendar is such a bargain at £99 for over £565 of products, with loads of full-sized goodies; you could easily repurpose some of them as gifts whilst still keeping lots for yourself!
In my bio you will find a link to my review plus a direct link to the beauty box itself.

I had so much fun creating this look, using almost entirely SUQQU (powder, eyeliner and mascara were the only products that weren’t SUQQU) and the whole look is built around the beautiful Signature Color Eyes in 128, which is from last season and it’s sold out in most places, but I found it still available at Selfridges, so if you fancy treating yourself to my favourite ever SUQQU palette then I would recommend grabbing it quite soon! I’ve linked it in my bio.
I’m also using the new SUQQU The Foundation, which just launched last week; I’ll have a more detailed review soon, but just a quick heads-up that if you like a rich, hydrating, “glass skin” formula then this is the one for you!
What do you think of this smoky eye look? Have a wonderful weekend, my lovely friends! xx

✨I was planning to review the Heimish Artless Glow Base soon, but I decided to rush through a review because StyleKorean currently have it on offer and it is so, so good - I actually think this might be my favourite ever sunscreen! 😱
For me to love a sunscreen, it has to ideally do a number of things:
✔️It has to have a high SPF - this one is SPF50
✔️You have to be able to use loads of it without any issue - this one can be layered up as much as you like, skin doesn`t get greasier looking and it just melts into skin without any pilling
✔️Must play well with other products - I now use this instead of a primer and it plays well with both skincare and makeup, making it a brilliant multitasker
This also adds a fantastic, pearlescent glow to the skin that shines through under makeup without looking sweaty or OTT.
I would compare this to my beloved SUQQU Protecting Day Cream, however, this one is less than half the price, and, if you buy it now from @stylekorean_global, it`s less than a tenner which is just amazing for what you get.
✨I highly recommend trying this and you can find it by clicking on the link through my bio ✨

There are a few beauty sites I logon to every single day to see what’s happening, and one of them is @stylekorean_global; they stock the most phenomenal collection of K-Beauty and they’re always running really good promotions. I’m fortunate to be on their press list, but I’ve also started buying a lot from them too, so expect to see a lot of #kbeauty love in the next few months!
I was sent this trio of Vitamin C products from @jumiso_global, and I’m so impressed that they have three different types of Vitamin C serums to suit your individual needs. It’s #TextureTuesday, so enjoy some fabulous textures over the inexplicably depressing background music...
🧡All Day Pure C 5.5 Serum: a powerful duo of 5.5% L-Ascorbic Acid and 2% Ascorbyl Glucoside, this serum promises to fade dark spots by up to 30% in 2 weeks!
🧡All Day Vitamin Brightening and Balancing Facial Serum: this contains a cocktail of vitamins housed in gentle ingredients (included my beloved cica and Hyaluronic Acid) making this a great starting point for those new to Vitamin C, or an ideal choice for the more sensitive skin types.
🧡All Day VC-IP 1.0 Firming Serum: this is the one that excited me the most as it’s got a bit of a do-it-all formula that promises to hydrate, promote collagen production and brighten skin, making it perfect for anyone trying to streamline their skincare.
🧡🧡 StyleKorean have a massive sale on the moment so all three of these serums are around half price, I’ve linked them all individually in my bio, or you can also find them on Amazon. Which serum would you like to try? 🧡🧡

The September Roccabox is here, and the theme for this month focuses on rising stars in the world of beauty. Here`s what you get:
💜ARKIVE The Good Habit Hybrid Hair Oil: I was particularly excited to see this since I was at ARKIVE last week for an event, so I can`t wait to try this ✨
💜skinChemists Advanced Lash Intensive Clear Mascara Treatment: I think a lot of people will be excited to see this (not just because of the £69 price tag!) and I`ll be giving it a go as it sounds rather interesting 👀
💜Hello Skin - Hydrogel Eye Masks: recently I have just become a walking puff monster so I welcome any kind of eye mask to help with such problems 🙌
💜Myrkl (3 doses): this is a clever little pill that you take the night before drinking to reduce the impact of the impending hangover...where were these in my 20s?! 😫
💜Sixways Recovery Body Cleanser: there are a variety of Sixways products this month, so it`s a bit of a lucky dip 👌
💜💜Find a link to subscribe in my bio. What do you fancy trying from the September box? 💜💜
Making the most of the horror show that is my skin at the moment by working on my transition videos...when life give you lemons, people! 😂
Happy weekend my lovelies, have a great one xx

I`m starting things off with these pretties from Youth to the People, the Superfood Cleanser and the Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask.
Both products are iconic alone, with the cleanser providing a deep and thorough cleanse for both AM and PM, whilst the mask is full of nourishing goodies that work to hydrate, either as a quickie treatment (I like to use it whilst I have a loooong soak in the bath) or as an overnight mask, but together, these two are a quick and easy way to give your face a mini facial, allowing a deep cleanse followed by a hydrating treat that easily slots into your routine.
What do you love from YTTP? Do you have a pair of products that you think go really well together? 💛

💜💜 I was so excited when Geek & Gorgeous got in touch to send me some goodies as I’ve heard such amazing things!
If you’ve seen my stories, you’ll know that I’ve got really problematic skin at the mo so I’m treading very carefully with any new products that might make the issue worse, therefore, I’m holding off on a full review for a little bit longer, I’ll write a more detailed blog post soon.
Today I thought I’d share with you some texture shots, since it’s #TextureTuesday and I FINALLY got the timing right!
First up there’s HA5 Rich, followed by Jelly Joker and lastly Mighty Melt. I have my eye on a few of their products, which would you recommend I try next? 💜💜

RoC Skincare Now at Boots
Are you familiar with RoC skincare? I feel like they’re a brand from my childhood that’s kind of always been around, but only recently reappeared on the skincare radar, presumably as a result of now being available at Boots, which is excellent news as not only are they more accessible, they’ll be eligible for promotions…
Hyclo Skin – Gentle Skincare For Adult Acne
I’ve been oversharing about my battle with adult acne on here for over 13 years now, so I get a lot of requests from brands to feature their new launches aimed at treating breakouts and, to be honest, I take a lot of it with a pinch of salt. For many, adult acne isn’t something…
Clarins Lip Perfector Glow (Review and Swatches)
I only received these at the end of last week, but I had to get a blog post up as these are very much my kind of lip product. The Clarins Lip Perfector Glows tick all of my boxes when it comes to the sort of lip products that I tend to reach for; easy,…
