This is a hugely indulgent post as I love, love, LOVE looking back at what was the most popular from the previous year, based on views, as I always find it surprising! Obviously views isn’t the fairest way to do it as any posts from the later segment of the year are at a disadvantage, but it still makes for an interesting list. Check out my 2013 list here.
1. Biologique Recherche: An Introduction to my Skincare Prescription
By far the most popular post coming in at almost double views of the next on the list, and this wasn’t even posted last year! Biologique Recherche is an amazing skincare line that hasn’t had a lot of exposure in the UK, inexplicably, so I think people search for info on it quite a bit, especially the infamous P50.
2. Bourjois BB Cream Compact Foundation
Another post from 2013, this was at number 4 in the list for that year and has now jumped up to 2 for 2014.
3. Real Techniques Retractable Kabuki Brush and Bronzer Brush
Now on to the first post from 2014, which is a review of these two brushes from Real Techniques. RT posts are always popular and I can’t wait to get my hands on their newest launch!
2014 was the year Makeup Revolution made an unbelievable impact on our make-up kits with their brilliant quality at ridiculously low prices, taking the guilt out of binging and hauling! I was lucky enough to attend the launch where I got to snap some of the products just as they were landing which resulted in a very popular post.
5. Boots No7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Brush
This was the most popular post from 2013, so it makes sense it’s still in the list for 2014. I didn’t actually get on too well with the brush, although others have said they like it.
6. Upcoming Sleek Makeup Launches
Sleek make-up posts are always popular too, but this look at upcoming launches was posted in so many different forums that it got a lot of views in 2014.
7. Boots No7 Colour Match Service
Here’s a post from way back in 2012! I think the arrival of the lipstick matching service revived interest in the foundation service, both of which are awesome in my opinion, and I hope they continue to expand it.
8. bareMinerals 5-in-1 BB Advanced Performing Cream Eyeshadow
I do think the last couple of years bareMinerals have really come to the forefront of makeup with some fabulous new releases; there’s quite a few of us who count several BM products as essentials. The BB cream shadows were fantastic due to the fact that they performed so many functions in both skincare and make-up, so I’m happy this post was so popular.
9. Philip Visapure – Review and Competition
More cleansing brush loveliness, although I fear the popularity of this post is mostly due to the giveaway. Still a great brush though, and the first competent rival to the infamous Clarisonic.
10 . Avon Ultra Colour Lip Crayons
Another 2013 post, I figured this would be popular as when I first mentioned them on the various social media channels, there was a lot of interest.
11. Una Brennan Super Facialist Range
…and another post from 2012! Again, this pleases me as I love the Super Facialist range and I’m always eager to try any new releases, so I’m pleased people have an interest in this collection.
12. Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream Swatches
This is quite a dull post of swatches but it was heavily viewed for both last year and the year before (and the year before that too) which put it second on the 2013 list.
13. Biologique Recherche Masque Vivant
More from BR with this awesome mask – I really need to buy myself another one as I used this up a while ago and it really is fab.
14. Five Best Cleansing Waters for Problem Skins
There we have it! The 14 most popular posts from 2014.
