I’ve attended a couple of events recently where I’ve received a Selfridges gift card in my goody bag, so a mega haul was due. I purchased a few bits for Teddy – three new toys and a brand new pair of horrendously cute Vans – and the rest was blown on lots and lots and lots of make-up. I took this as an opportunity to pick up a few products I’ve been lusting after recently, alongside some goodies that I’ve always wanted to try but never got around too.
First up, the eyes and cheeks, which is mostly dominated by Charlotte Tilbury products. Can you believe I have never tried anything from Charlotte Tilbury? That’s now safely been sorted and I will be posting about my experiences soon. At first I was going to go for the “Ingénue” look-in-a-box as I dig that sort of innocent, pretty make-up vibe, but then I realised that there were only a few bits in the box that I really wanted, so I grabbed those instead, and they were the Colour Chameleon Eyeshadow Pencil in Champagne Diamonds, the Cheek to Chic Blusher in Love Glow and the The Classic Eyeliner in Audrey. I kind of want the Lip Cheat in Pink Venus too, so I’ll probably pick that up soon too. I also chose the Taupe shade of the rather terrifyingly packaged Ellis Faas Creamy Eyes Eye Shadow, and not pictured is a Mac 217 that I got stuck into before I took the pictures – you can never have too many 217s!
On to the lips, where you can see a collection of alarmingly similar shades. The Tom Ford Lip Color Shine in Chastity was a bit of a wildcard as it looks soooo gorgeous in online swatches, but I was almost totally certain that it would be far too pale for me, and annoyingly I was right – I have strong pigment in my lips and this shade didn’t sit well or opaquely across my lips at all, so that’s a shame. Next up is the Bonheur shade of the Dior Rouge Brilliant Lip Shine, which is a slightly nude-leaning, milky pink gloss that’ll sit happily amongst the rest of my slightly nude-leaning, milky pink glosses. Whilst it’s a bit ridiculous to buy pretty much the same shade over and over, at least these are shades I actually wear, so in theory, I’ll get through them all eventually…Lastly, it wouldn’t be a proper beauty haul without something from Nars, so I went for the Nucleus shade in the Christopher Kane collaboration, which is a slightly nude-leaning, milky pink gloss. I likes what I likes.
*Paid for with vouchers from previous events, like I said. Innit.
What a wonderful haul – just a little bit jealous (okay a lot, lol). Can wait to read all of the reviews x
Ha ha 😀 Ah thank you – it was great fun; I did it all online and really took my time, so it was a few hours very well spent! 😉
Blimey, that’s a heck of a goodie bag! I’m very jealous. Enjoy.
